Created on 1 January 2012, Aix-Marseille University (AMU) is the largest French-speaking multidisciplinary university. It has 80,000 students and around 8,000 staff, across 5 large international-standard campuses. The University owns 90% of its sites and is present in 9 cities, in 4 departments of the South Region.
An intensive research university, it is home to 121 research structures linked to major national research organisations. With its interdisciplinary focus positioned as a core feature of its development strategy, it recently created 15 institutes, building gateways between research and training, with an extensive international outlook.
