Sylvie Retailleau appointed Minister of Higher Education and Research

Udice congratulates Sylvie Retailleau on her appointment to the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. Until then President of the University of Paris-Saclay, Sylvie Retailleau, a physicist, has successfully pursued a career in higher education and research, while assuming high scientific and administrative responsibilities.

Udice sees in this appointment a favorable signal to pursue with the new minister the projects for the ESRI of the 21st century set out in her platform for the presidential election: making universities the pillars of national research strategies, assuming the differentiation of universities, creating the conditions for attracting talent, thinking about the research, training and innovation continuum on a European scale, making universities autonomous and adapting funding.

Udice will be vigilant that the new minister's portfolio addresses the Research, Training and Innovation continuum, which is essential to address the major climate, ecological, digital and technological issues
