Université Grenoble Alpes
Firmly established within its region, multidisciplinary and open to the international stage, Université Grenoble Alpes brought together the main public higher education institutions in Grenoble and Valence on 1 January 2020. Today, Université Grenoble Alpes has 55,000 students and 6,700 staff.
In association with the national research organisations and major international facilities present in its region, it builds its research and innovation policy on a global scale. Six research centres support and develop excellence across all disciplines, covering both fundamental and applied research, promoting a multidisciplinary focus and encouraging collaboration between the teams from different centres.
In 2020, Université Grenoble Alpes was the first French university outside of the Paris region to be included in the top 100 of the prestigious Shanghai ranking.
